Day at the Zoo...

Today, we went to the Hogle Zoo.
The elephants were a family favorite! The baby elephant was adorable but she did not want to come to the fence so we could get a picture! Suri was very cute!
Dimitri, Zachary and Kira.
Dimitri and Zachary hang out with an old friend.
We rode the Merry-Go-Round.
Zachary and Kira enjoying some apple juice. These two are so cute when they talk to each other. A side note, we rented this double stroller from the zoo thinking it would be nice for the kids to get in and out of. It was IMPOSSIBLE to push, it was heavy and horrible. We thought for sure it was because our boys were too heavy. Well, as were approaching the end of the zoo (after struggling on the hills), Cicily noticed that the stroller had a break and it was on the entire time. UGH...really? Once the break was released the stroller was simple and easy! That's right, who would have thought a rental stroller had a break?! Come on now!
The baby giraffe was so cute!
The train ride was next!
Sight seeing on the train ride.
Zachary coming down the slide.
Zachary still wonders if this is where he came from.
Dimitri being silly!
Mommy and Zachary.
Dimitri wants to be a turtle.

Kira, Zachary and Dimitri...so cute!

Thank you Stephanie and Kira for coming to the Zoo and
playing with us. You are always so much fun and we can't
wait until our next play date!

A baby is coming...

Today, we hosted a baby shower for my sister Angela
and my brother-in-law Jared.

Here is a picture of the nursery.

Jared loves his new diaper bag.

Jared was thrilled that his daughter will be wearing a
Denver Bronco's outfit. Angela on the other hand is a Raiders
fan and isn't sure she likes it.

Damien was adorable!

As one of the games we had people make babies with Play-Doh! Some made cute "babies", others looked like animals and Dan decided to make a tank instead! It was hysterical to see what some people call "art".

Our kids spent the day with Grandma Rena. Since they did not get to join in the fun, we brought cupcakes home...that's LOVE! Zachary is a pro when it comes to eating cupcakes.

Elephant Parade by Ringling Bros.

We went to the Elephant Parade this afternoon at Gateway.

Dimitri's clown nose.

Zachary is ready for clown school.

The balloons were a family favorite!
As the clowns would go by Dimitri would wave and say hello!

The boys loved the Orange County Chopper!
The circus float.
Here come more clowns. Dimitri was so excited when
a clown came over and gave him a high five.
Here come the elephants.
It was breathtaking to watch this beautiful animals walk
down the street.

We will have to make this a family tradition! We had a BLAST!

Pledge of Allegiance...

We picked Dimitri up at school and while we were driving
he started reciting "The Pledge of Allegiance". We were
speechless and very proud.

Amazing...simply amazing

Tonight, Dimitri wrote his name freehand for the first time and we stand in awe! We wanted to see if he could get close to writing the letters so we wrote his name and then told him to write his name.
This is the result...

We can't believe he can write his name at 3 years old!

Snow day...

This week the weather has been cooler and has felt like fall. Crisp mornings, a hot breakfast, a favorite sweatshirt to cuddle up in. Little did we know that SNOW would come to our house so soon.

This picture of Dimitri playing in the "snow". That's right, our sweet boys decided to take all the stuffing out the cushions and play in the snow. The stuffing was everywhere! This picture only shows about a 1/4 of what was really there!

Both of the boys seemed to have a great time until it was time to
clean up! Boys, boys, boys! Grrrr let's hope that this does not happen again!

Say cheese...

When you ask Dimitri and Zachary to say "cheese" these are the smiles. More like CHEESY!

State Fair 2009...

Today, we went to the Utah State Fair.
This tractor was HUGE!
Dimitri is sitting in the wheel of the tractor.
Matri and Dimitri are very excited to be at the fair.
The first thing we decided to do is to go see all the animals.
Zachary and Dimitri pet a calf.
Zachary's favorite animals were the goats.
Dimitri and "Big Red" the bull.
This bull was huge, weighing in at 3010 lbs. WOW!
Zachary and "Rocky" the pony, became quick friends. Zachary
loved his pony ride and giggled most of the time. Maybe Zachary
should ask for a pony for his birthday?
Every time we go to a festival we ask Dimitri if he wants to ride a pony and he always tells us no. Today, we were thrilled to hear that Dimitri wanted to ride "Stormy" the biggest pony.
While we were at the fair, the boys decided to spend some
time on the farm.

Shearing the sheep and collecting the wool.
This is "Bessie".

Dimitri is milking Bessie. This was his first time milking
a cow and he did a fantastic job.

Collecting eggs from the chicken coops.
Zachary making sure that he only picked the best eggs.
The boys then had to ride the "tractor" and plow the field.
Zachary had a full load of hay.

After a hard day of working on the farm the boys wanted
to go look at the race cars.
Now, what's a fair without rides.
Dimitri and Zachary rode the spinning dragon, roller coaster, balloons, helicopters, etc... They are true dare devils and love rides. They even had their arms up on the roller coaster.

Another perfect family fun day!
