First time for everything...

This was a week we got to experience many things for the FIRST time....
Dimitri did great on his bike! He fell a few times but has began to ride around the driveway with little help.

But in the end, he still loves his bullet bike and the bike the Miller's gave him for his birthday the best (we think it is because he does not have to work as hard to go)!

Zachary ate homemade spaghetti (no Gerber food here) for the first time and loved it! Our little guy is growing up!

The most important thing is that our boys both witnessed history this week and seemed mesmerized by what was being said. I am not sure if our boys will be Republican, Democrat or Independent but we will teach them that they can be anything that they want to be! We will teach them to love ALL, judge NONE, show RESPECT, have FAITH, be HONEST, be FAIR, to be LOYAL and to never compromise their INTEGRITY! Always Remember Never Forget... WE LOVE YOU!!!

For the "first" time, we as their parents realized....
they are "OUR FUTURE"! Therefore, the WORLD is a better place with these two WONDERFUL boys; who will someday become GREAT men!

Yesterday was cousin Sophie's birthday party! Zachary did the "big slide" all by himself. Of course, Dimitri was Mr. Independent and did all the slides by himself (Mommy & Matri) could hardly keep up with him. We had a great time playing miniature golf. Aunt M and Grandma Terry played a fantastic 9 holes! We all had a wonderful time and hope that Sophie had a SUPER birthday!

Dinner with family

Mommy & Zachary

Dimitri
The Gang....

Last night we had a wonderful dinner at Grandma Terry and Grandma Patty's house. Dimitri and Zachary always have a great time playing and of course the food is always delicious! On the way home I took this picture-the sky was BEAUTIFUL!

Little Angels...

There are moments in motherhood that we have come to realize that our little boys are angels...for brief moments we catch a glimpse of heaven as they play, laugh or smile. In the past week, these were some of those precious moments...

Heritage....

This weekend we went to International Peace Garden. While we were there we toured the different areas of the park and had a picnic.

It was a great afternoon!

Grandma's Visit

Tonight Grandma came over to visit with Dimitri and Zachary. It was also the first time she saw Zachary in his "hockey" helmet and decided he needs his favorite number on his helmet (we think his favorite number should be 2).

The boys can't wait for her to come back and play with them again. We love you Grandma!

Zachary is on his way!!!

Tonight is a BIG night! Zachary has started to crawl!

WOW!!! We are all excited! Dimitri was a big help in showing Zachary how to crawl. He is such a fantastic brother! Mommy was so happy that she got to see him crawl for the first time; you would have thought that Zachary just won the Super Bowl!

Dimitri knows his ABC's

We are amazed with Dimitri knowing his ABC's. It's hard to believe he just turned 2 years old. Dimitri, you are such a smart boy. We are so proud of you!

The day we have been waiting for...

Zachary was finally fitted for his helmet today. As you can see he has no idea what is about to take place.
Mommy tries tell him what is about to happen but he just goes in for a kiss!
Then Zachary thinks he is just having his picture taken with Mommy and "Lucas" and he looks so innocent.

Then the fitting begins...

We will find out in two months an estimated time frame Zachary will need to wear the helmet. We know this is going to be an uphill battle but we are prepared!

Austin turns 14!

Our nephew Austin had his 14th birthday party over the weekend. Austin is young and athletic and being around him I feel my age. Knowing we have two small children and the teenager years are around the corner.
I would also like to say that Austin is in junior high and he is playing on the high school football team. That means our new favorite team is the Layton Lancers. We can't wait for the season to start! Just goes to show that if you set your mind to something you can achieve it! Congrats Austin, we are proud of you!!!

At last....

Zachary will be fitted for his helmet this afternoon! We will post pictures as soon as we get them. Again, we would like to thank EVERYONE for all of the love and support we have received during this "emotional" roller coaster process! The doctor has told us that this process will be harder on us than it is on Zachary and so far he is 100% correct. We are sure that this afternoon will be full of tears and joy!
